Happy Anniversary!!!

Yesterday was our 1 year anniversary!!! I can't believe how fast this year has gone by. It's been eventful, we adopted another puppy, had adventures in home ownership, bought a car, Anthony began coaching for the Clovis Wolves, and we found out we were having a baby, just to mention a few! The funny thing is, it doesn't feel like it's been a year. I feel like I just walked down the isle and said 'I Do'! Maybe that's because it's been so wonderful!

This month has been SO busy, we didn't plan anything for our anniversary! AHHH! Here's what the month has been like: Weekend 1-camping at Lake Hunnington (Awful idea, pregnant people don't do well in the wilderness) Weekend 2-Patio boat trip with friends. Weekend 3- Baby shower and Anniversary! Weekend 3- Clovis Wolves game. Weekend 4- A wedding in Monterey.

So, with all of that, we didn't plan very well for our anniversary! We decided the day before to take a trip to Pismo and enjoy the day together...but that didn't happen! ha! We ended up sleeping in and having a lazy day together instead. I think we were just so exhausted from all of the day's events to do anything! Plus, I haven't been doing so well sitting in a car for very long. I require many stops along the way, and not to mention my annoying diabetic diet! We decided instead to spend the day together, shopping for a bed for our room, and going out to dinner. We ended up buying a bookshelf for Michael's room and spent quite a bit of time trying to sort thorough all of the gifts from the shower. I think it looks like more of a mess now than when we started! Later, we went to the Olive Garden for dinner, went for a walk, and then ate our wedding cake! At the end of the day I don't think I would have wanted it any other way!

Our baby shower!!!!

We had an AMAZING baby shower this weekend! Our friend Brie threw the shower for us at her mom's beautiful home here in Fresno. We decided to go nontraditional and have a co-ed baby shower which turned out to be so much fun! We played games like 'how big is the belly', a fun game where Anthony had to give the directions to the hospital, and 'gift bingo'. Brie had prizes for the winners too, the boy gifts were so cute with beer and BBQ sauce! Our friends and family, some traveling three hours to come, were all there to support us! They brought wonderful gifts that included teething rings, to diaper bags, Notre Dame clothes, and lets not forget the 'butt paste'! I think one of the best gifts was the sugar free cheesecake my Mother-in-law made for me! It was so delicious! (I've been enjoying what's left of it every night since! I'm determined to make it last!) My friend Nicole also took these pictures with her awesome camera! I'm just amazed how many gifts were brought and that in about 7 weeks we will have Michael here with us! Anthony and I are so thankful to have such wonderful friends and family in our lives!

Ultrasound Pictures

Last week we went to a 3D ultrasound place! My mom even came from Lancaster to see it! I had no idea what he would look like but I didn't expect him to be a clone of his father! He looks so much like Anthony, but I think he has my lips! They printed out a bunch of pictures for us and even made a DVD that we can play at home. It is just so incredible to see the face of someone that you have spent so many months trying to imagine in your mind! I still can't wait to see what his hair and eye color is!

Getting ready for baby!

We are both so excited for our son to come, we just can't wait! The first thing we did when we found out we were pregnant was go shopping for baby furniture. We found a beautiful crib and dresser and brought it home! Anthony picked out the bedding on his own! I was feeling really sick one day and didn't want to get out of bed, so Anthony (being the very determined person that he is :) drove to all of the different baby stores in Fresno and Clovis and sent me pictures from his phone of the bedding he liked. He came home with an adorable turtle and fish bedding set that he put together by himself. He was such a proud papa! We've added a glider, curtains, and pictures to the walls. His dresser is already full of adorable clothes thanks to my dad who has sent package after package of clothes from Tennessee! All we need now is Michael! Well, there are a few more things we need, but Anthony and I have promised friends that we would stop buying things until after the baby shower! We're just so excited, we can't help ourselves!

Our first blog post!

Wow! Our one year wedding anniversary is just around the corner! We were married last year on July 18th and already I feel so much has happened in such a short period of time. Where did the year go? I wanted to start this blog to document all of the wonderful moments in our lives. Because it seems time is flying by, this seems like a perfect way to record our thoughts and experiences in first time parenting! Yikes! Our son Michael is on the way, only two months to go! I am so excited and can't wait to meet him!
